Adult
and Child CPR ($40)
This
American Heart Association course teaches how to respond to emergency situations
providing participants with CPR and the relief of choking skills for both
adults and children. Attendees may also participate in an optional module
and learn infant CPR and relief of choking skills at no additional cost.
Recertification is required every two years. This program is required of
the MHRT-1 certification.
*New* BLS Healthcare Provider Renewal Online
To recertify in a BLS at the health care level participants complete an
online course available through the American Heart Association, then contact
the Training Center to schedule a skills verification appointment. Course
and skills verification sold separately. ($25)

American Heart Association Strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in
BLS, ACLS and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this
purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not
represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any
fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for
AHA course materials do not represent income to the Association.
First Aid ($35)
Participants will learn how to handle
minor medical emergencies such as cuts, burns, ingestion of poisons,
falls etc. This program is required of the MHRT-1 certification.
Recertification is required every two years.
Mandt Intermediate Initial ($160)
This 16-hour course is required of the
MHRT-1 certification. Participants will receive certification in the
relational and technical workshops learning how to manage their behaviors
recognize possible dangerous situations and de-escalation techniques.
Participants will also learn the crisis cycle and how to de-escalate a
situation. The physical skills of assisting, separating and standing
restraint are taught in this class. Recertification is required every
year.
Mandt Intermediate Recertification ($85)
This program is for individuals who
currently hold a Mandt certification that has not expired.
Recertification is required every year.
Certified Residential Medication Aide Initial ($250)
This 40-hour course will prepare
participants to administer medications in a residential care facility.
This program is approved through the Department of Human Services and is
required for the MHRT-1 certification. A refresher course is required
within 2 years of certification.
Certified Residential Medication Aide Refresher ($75)
Participants who currently hold a CRMA
certificate can attend this DHS approved competency-based testing to
renew their CRMA certification. A copy of the participant's current
certificate must be brought to the class. A refresher course is required
within 2 years of certification to ensure no disruption in ability to
administer medications, though a participant may attend this class up to
30 days beyond the expiration date of their certificate.
Mental Health Support Specialist ($225)
This program is a requirement for the
MHRT-1 certification and is approved by DHHS. Some of the 15 topics that
are covered in this program are psychosocial rehab, sexuality, skills
teaching, functional skills, health & safety and rights of
recipients, among others. This course will provide an overview of health
care delivery in the assisted living environment.
Direct Support Specialist($325 OR $30/module)
This course is a requirement for
individuals working in the developmental disabilities field. Participants
may enroll in one or all of the 13 modules required for certification through
the Behavioral Health Sciences Institute in partnership with DHHS.
Modules include: Overview of MR/DD, Documentation, Rights, Communication,
Confidentiality, Human Behavior, Guardianship, Sexuality, Choice &
Responsibility, Teaching, Social Roles and Community Inclusion, Health
& Safety, and Planning with People.
