WINTER 2011-2012

UNITED WAY DRIVE--FOOD DRIVE--AGENCY WIDE

A Thank You like this is usually difficult to write. Not because it is hard to thank people, but because you might leave out someone who contributed greatly to your effort, and that leads to hard feelings … so I am taking a risk here as I attempt to thank a few individuals who seemed to provide some ‘above and beyond’ effort…

Cel Paquette … what can we say? You won more prizes than anybody in the history of MoCo raffles… I think! BUT… you gave a great deal too… your time (organizing the food drive at your Arsenal program) shopping for the food you contributed, and you and your team assembling the generous food donated by your team, into a snowman (maybe the only ‘snow’ we will see for the rest of 2011?)

I thank you for making your work fun, and being so free to share your resources. Thank-you Heidi Olson for drawing Cel’s tickets out of the basket … multiple times!

I want to thank the folks who provided ‘brawn’… some real onsite muscle for the lifting, transporting, loading/unloading. In other words the grunt work! Thank-you William Haiss for moving all of the food into the hallway, only to find out it couldn’t be delivered…yet! Patience, served you well!

Thank-you John Painter and Anne Berry for the Hospital Street Moving Company… loading up the elevator with heavy boxes over and over and over!

Thank-you Chele for wrestling the heavy stuff and organizing the load! Organizing and execution of the Agency Wide…Organizers are invaluable!

And, Tim Dougherty.  I bet you didn’t know what you were getting into when you ‘volunteered’ to help! Manual labor- that’s for sure! Kristen McAuslin we appreciate your help… showing up for the fire drill and the actual delivery and the use of your vehicle. That held quite a load!

Programs showed a robust effort this year with their donations: The DDDS Team brought in bags and boxloads… it meant so much to the Food Bank. They wanted to know if we could ‘drop by every Monday!’ Well…

Various prizes were awarded to raffle ticket holders. Those who donated to the United Way or a food item were all awarded tickets and did not need to be present to win. Hannaford Cards, Irving Cards, a Red Barn Gift Card, and Senator Inn Spa prizes were awarded just to name a few… Mighty Clean did a Mighty Clean Up in that category too!

Thanks to Case Managers who reached the goal of 100% participation this year in pledges to the United Way Campaign!

Thank-you to everybody from those who gave a dollar per week to the United Way Campaign and to those who gave their first can or box to the food bank. It all matters and it is all appreciated by those in need.  So what is our current total in pledges?

Glad you asked…

$9291.00 that is… NINE THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY-ONE DOLLARS!!!! We have until the end of the month… in case someone out there wants to help us reach TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS???

Thank you.

Thanks a million.

SUMMER 2011

MoCo's Annual Employee Appreciation Day:  Affectionately Known as "The Picnic!"

It’s that time again!

MoCo’s Annual Employee Appreciation Day is fast approaching and we are changing it up a bit this year with a new venue and lots of activities!

There will be a lot of space for lounging, badminton, whiffle ball, and a playground for the kiddos.

Picnic tables to eat at, and indoor seating will be available for cooling off, but if you want, bring a camp chair or two and stake out a nice spot under a shade tree and enjoy the festivities.

Because of a generous donation, there will be no charge for children to attend this year.

**Remember to register by July 20th! Employees only...one paid guest per employee (not including children.)

See you there!    Click here for more info!
